Thank you Nikki for this beautiful basket – it will sprinkle some Midlife Chic glamour into my NZ summer! As a dedicated fan of your blog for the last five years I bought this partly to support your fledgling business as a thank you for the joy your blog has brought me. But actually the basket is of excellent quality so my purchase stands as a good decision on its own merits.
The basket is great quality, tightly woven, a beautiful straw colour with the silver sequins being attached firmly. The leather handles add a nice touch and will make for comfortable carrying. I am undecided as to whether the tassel is too sparkly, so I may be remove it, but it certainly adds some extra bling. The bag has ample carrying capacity but will be better for lighter loads – I’m thinking market produce, or towels and a book, rather than anything too heavy.
I intend to use it as a beach bag, but it will also be used to dress up a smart casual outfit on trips to Wellington. I’m a big fan of women who are 40 plus having fun with their clothing, enjoying colourful lives (and fashionable clothing!) with no apologies. This bag happily fits into that mindset.
